Introduction 

At Prince Mugrin bin Abdulaziz University, we seek to support promising and academically distinguished male and female students by offering full and partial scholarships in accordance with the approved conditions and regulations of the University. We are also keen to assist students and their families in exploring the available scholarship options, making university education more accessible and affordable.

The scholarship is calculated based on the student’s weighted percentage as follows:
40% from the Achievement Test score
30% from the Aptitude Test score
30% from the High School GPA

*Please note that scholarships at Prince Mugrin bin Abdulaziz University are subject to
competitive selection.

Scholarship Criteria and Regulations for the 2026–2027 Academic Year

Academic Excellence Scholarships
Excellence (A) 

Conditions for joining and maintaining the scholarship:

The applicant must have a weighted average percentage of 97% or higher.

The English language test score carries a weight of 20% in the selection criteria.

The deadline for submitting scholarship applications is 30 July 2026.

The announcement for the nominated students will be on 4 August 2026.

Must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 out of 4

The duration for the scholarship in the Preparatory Year program is maximum 31 credit hours.

The duration for the scholarship in the program is the maximum number of credits in the program's study plan.

 

Scholarship percentage: 100% 

Number of Seats: 30 seats.

Scholarship Benefits:

A monthly reward of 1000 SAR.

Semester economy class tickets for students from outside the Medina region.

Excellence (B) 

Conditions for joining and maintaining the scholarship:

The applicant must have a weighted average percentage of 94% or higher.

The English language test score carries a weight of 20% in the selection criteria.

The deadline for submitting scholarship applications is 30 July 2026.

The announcement for the nominated students will be on 4 August 2026.

Maintain a cumulative average of no less than 3.0 out of 4.

The duration for the scholarship in the Preparatory Year program is maximum 31 credit hours.

The duration for the scholarship in the program is the maximum number of credits in the program's study plan.

Scholarship percentage: 70% 

Number of Seats: 40 seats. 

Corporate Scholarship
Corporate Scholarship 

Conditions for joining and maintaining the scholarship:

The applicant must have a weighted average percentage of 80% or higher, or a general high school grade of 90% or above.

Scholarship percentage: The percentage may vary from one company to another.

Number of Seats: Open.

Private Scholarship
1. Charitable Organizations Scholarship 

Conditions for joining and maintaining the scholarship:

The applicant must have a weighted average percentage of 80% or higher, or a general high school grade of 90% or above.

Maintain a cumulative average of no less than 2 out of 4. 

The duration for the scholarship in the Preparatory Year program is maximum 31 credit hours.

The duration for the scholarship in the program is the maximum number of credits in the program's study plan.

The discount rate for courses under the International Hospitality Management program is 35%.

Scholarship Percentage: 50% 

Number of seats: Open. 

2. Partial Scholarship 

Conditions for joining and maintaining the scholarship:

The applicant must have a weighted average percentage of 80% or higher, or a general high school grade of 90% or above.

Maintain a cumulative average of no less than 2 out of 4. 

The duration for the scholarship in the Preparatory Year program is maximum 31 credit hours.

The duration for the scholarship in the program is the maximum number of credits in the program's study plan.

The discount rate for courses under the International Hospitality Management program is 35%.

3. National Scholarship  

Scholarship for the children of martyrs of duty

Conditions for joining and maintaining the scholarship:

This scholarship is specifically for children of martyrs of duty in all sectors. This is one of our most valued scholarship programs, recognizing sacrifices made for the nation.

Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2 out of 4.

The duration for the scholarship in the Preparatory Year program is maximum 31 credit hours.

The duration for the scholarship in the program is the maximum number of credits in the program's study plan.

Scholarship percentage: 100%

1: How much does a semester cost?

2: Can I come at any time to complete the admission procedures and join the scholarship? 
It is necessary to complete the admission procedures and pay the tuition fees before the start of the semester, noting that the scholarship seats are limited and priority is given to those who have completed the admission procedures and paid the fees.
3: Are the fees refundable if the student decides to withdraw from the semester?

4: When is the start and end date of registration? 
Admission period starts on 14/06/2026 and ends on 30/08/2026
5: Are university admissions and scholarships for Saudis only? 
University admissions and scholarships for Saudis, non-Saudis, visitors and international students
6: When does a student move to study the major? 
The student moves to study the major if he/she completes the preparatory year courses with the required grade or takes the IELTS test with a score of 5 or TOEFL with a score of 500 or equivalent.
7: Can an equivalency be made for students transferred from other universities? 
Yes, and to submit equivalency requests, the transcript and course descriptions must be sent, stamped and certified by the university where the student studied, in pdf format through the electronic form, and it is required that the equivalency be submitted before the start of the semester
8: How many years of study at the university? 
The total number of years of study is 5 years (4 years of specialization + preparatory year)
9: Is there admission for the second semester? 
Yes, there is admission for the second semester
10: Can I apply to the university while I am registered at another university? 
A student can apply to the university while he is registered in another university, and he must withdraw before starting his studies at Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University.
11: Do I have the right to withdraw after confirming acceptance and paying fees? 
Yes, the student has the right to withdraw after confirming acceptance and paying fees, after submitting a release form from the university. The tuition fee refund policy applies to withdrawn students.
12: Do I have the right to apply for a bachelor's degree after completing the diploma? 

Yes, a diploma graduate can apply to the University and request to transfer any courses that match those offered at Prince Mugrin bin Abdulaziz University. This will require meeting the following transfer conditions:

The student must submit a course equivalency request to the Admissions and Registration Department.

The student must have obtained a grade of "Good" or better in that course. 

The course taken outside the university must be equivalent, at least 75%, in its content to one of the courses included in the graduation requirements. 

The student will be granted a "Transfer" grade for the transferred courses. 

The equivalency of courses taken by a student at two educational institutions simultaneously is not accepted. 

The number of transferred and exempted hours must not exceed 40% of the total study plan credit hours.
