UPM management, faculty and students congratulate the winners of the first business plan competition for the emerging companies industry

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah Region, His Royal Highness Prince Saud Bin Khalid Al Faisal, Deputy Governor of the Region, honoured the winners  of the first business plan competition for the emerging companies industry.

HRH Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal briefed the participants on the exhibition of emerging companies participating in the closing ceremony of the exhibition of the first plan of action in Madinah 1439H, listening to the participants' ideas and participations and how their projects work, and highlighted the outputs they obtained during their participation in the competition.

His Highness also witnessed an introductory film about the first work plan competition in Madinah, which was overseen by the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Taibah University, which included meetings with some participants, as well as the stages of the competition and the most important achievements.

Deputy Director of SME Abdullah Al Sagheer explained that pioneering and innovative work is one of the objectives of the national transformation and the vision of the Kingdom of 2030, indicating that innovative and creative work is based on providing solutions to the business and society sectors to facilitate business. Including, finance creative projects, build partnerships with the public and private sectors to support Projects, drive growth to move small to medium enterprises, and then to major projects, the creative abilities of young people returned to the most important pillars of creative and innovative work, stressing the need to encourage students to transform their ideas into products Exclusive to contribute to building a knowledge society economically.

On his part, HE Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sardani, Director of the University of Taibah, expressed his thanks to the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud for his patronage of investments and academic and educational initiatives. Continuing education sectors in general and universities in particular by developing their plans, educational facilities and academic curricula and attracting scientific competencies in research and curriculum development.

He also thanked the Prince of Madinah Region for sponsoring the competition and supporting the various activities of the university. He stressed that His Highness's support for innovation and entrepreneurship comes in his keenness to create the youth of the region and support them to be building blocks of their country on all levels. Of the competition shows his interest and keenness to encourage the university administration and students to do more work and effort in the creative work and the industry of emerging companies.

Dr. Al-Sardani said that the University has taken the "Year of Innovation and Investment" as its slogan this year. The university is working to consolidate the idea of ​​investment and creativity in its programs and instilling it in the hearts of the staff and students. He added that the university has adopted innovation and investment in line with the national transformation program 2020 The University is in the process of developing its creative, innovative and research programs to suit the requirements of the labour market and the need for the academic and research area of ​​Medina.

Al-Sarani pointed out that the aim of the competition is to develop the capabilities of young people to manufacture innovative services and products and turn them into leading companies to create jobs and promote economic sustainability, adding that the competition is one of the most important initiatives at the university to develop the abilities of young people to generate ideas.

At the end of the ceremony, the Deputy Governor of Madinah Region honoured the jury of the first business plan competition in Madinah, the sponsors and the winners who received a grant from the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority after winning their pilot projects.
