About ICT

Welcome to the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department website. The ICT Dept. is responsible for University-wide deployment of information technologies and information technology services for use by the students, faculty, and staff of University of Prince Mugrin Bin Abdul Aziz.

Information technology is the foundation for most if not all work and services provided by the University. Information technology and information technology services are supporting entities for all other University areas and departments.

The installation, maintenance and utilization of information technology and information technology services are the critical success factors in our student’s education, academic settings (in-class and on-line) and for the efficient/effective administration of the organization.

Mission

Information Technology Division's mission is to provide effective leadership for selecting, applying, and managing critical information services that enhance University of Prince Mugrin's teaching, research, student learning, and administrative activities.

Vision

Information Technology Services advances the success of University of Prince Mugrin Bin Abdul Aziz by understanding its community so well that solutions are sought, trusted, and in place as needs arise.

Goals

  • Provide information technology infrastructure that meets the needs of the university to communicate both internally and externally and to connect with informational resources effectively, efficiently, ethically and securely.
  • Acquire, develop and provide access to information resources that support the research, teaching, learning and administrative needs of the university.
  • Enable improved university administration through effective information and technology management.
  • Provide support services that meet the needs of students, faculty, staff and the broader university community.
  • Develop and manage diverse IT division organizational and human resources to enable effective, efficient and ethical support of the university's information technology needs.
User Passwords are the keys to your account and personal information. Following are some of the steps that you can adopt to protect your information from others illegally accessing it
DO'S DON'TS
  • Use a minimum of 8 characters
  • Don’t use persons’ names
  • Use alphanumeric characters
  • Don’t use personal information
  • Use symbols if possible (@#$)
  • Don’t use dictionary words
  • Use small and capital letters (A a)
  • Don’t write it on post-it paper nor on the computer desktop/screen
  • ???? or use wrong spelling
  • Don’t keep the password in the drawer.
  • Hide your entering the password from others.
  • Don’t use the same password for multiple applications.
  • Change your password periodically
  • Don’t repeat using old passwords.
 

Users are urged to observe and comply with all the items listed above to ensure achievement the official requirement to apply strict and secure procedures that protect the Universities’ intention to comply with the IT international quality standards as specified in the ISO27001.
