Laboratories:

Laboratories play an extremely important role in Engineering education. The undergraduate courses are supplemented with extensive laboratory work to furnish the student with sufficient experimental experience in various fields of engineering using the most modern techniques of measurements, instrumentations and analysis.

Study at all Engineering departments covers practical applications in the following laboratories as an example:

Design Studio Labs:

Design Studio Labs enable students to understand and practice the basic principles of design and construction by conducting field exercises using a wide spectrum of design equipment. In the design labs are where the design been produced with new knowledge and exposure. The labs are completed with individual adjustable Drafting tables and moving stools. In aiding the teaching and learning process, the labs are also equipped with smart boards and projectors.

Computer Labs:

CAD or Computer Aided Design going to the advanced level year by year. Our labs are all equipped with up to date software including AutoCAD, Revit, 3D Max, Sketch up, Photoshop, …etc. The labs will be upgrad from time to time according to the needs of the students and industries worldwide.

Model making Lab:

Model making lab is mainly used by the students to further enhance their ability in designing with the help of three dimensional models. Effectively explore and communicate design ideas and propositions through manual model making techniques. This will articulate the students’ visual ability in imagining reality by manual and digital formats.

Surveying Lab:

The Surveying Laboratory enables students to understand and practice the basic principles of surveying by conducting field exercises using a wide spectrum of surveying equipment ranging from traditional dumpy levels, tilting level, compass, transits, plane table and theodolites to the latest electronic auto level, digital theodolite, total station. This laboratory covers data collection methods including surveying, profile leveling, contouring, compass traversing, laying out of curves, base line measurement and triangulation.

Engineering Material Lab:

Engineering properties of steel, Portland cement concrete, bituminous cement concrete, and timber; laboratory measurement of properties; interpretation of results.

Fluid mechanicsLab:

A basic knowledge of Fluid Mechanics and machinery is essential for all the scientists and engineers because they frequently come across a variety of problems involving flow of fluids such as in aerodynamics, force of fluid on structural surfaces, fluid transport. This fluid mechanics lab helps to understand these physical processes more closely. Various apparatus are available in the laboratory like, verification of Bernoulli's theorem apparatus, venturi& Orifice meters, orifice & mouth piece apparatus, flow over notches apparatus, vortex flow apparatus etc.

Water resources Lab:

The Environmental Engineering laboratory practical provides good insight into different experimental methods relevant to Environmental Engineering. In this lab we perform various tests on drinking water and sewage samples to check pH value, total dissolved solids, BOD and COD, total suspended particles etc. as per BIS standard. It helps to assess the water quality standard of the region, pollution load in sewage and working efficiency of sewage and other water treatment units. Experiment on ambient air pollution parameter such as SOx, NOx and SPM, and noise pollution measurement are also performed in this lab.

Transportation Engineering Lab:

For the design, construction of highway and airfield, it is imperative to carry out tests on construction materials for their scientific designing and economic utilization. The prime objective of the different tests in use is to know and classify the pavement material into different groups depending upon their physical and strength or stability characteristics. Marshall Stability Testing machine, ductility testing machine, penetration testing machine aggregate impact testing machine, abrasion testing machine, CBR testing machine are available in the laboratory.

Soil Lab:

Soil Testing is an integral part of soil mechanics and foundation engineering. A proper evaluation of soil samples and analysis of test results are essential of students and practicing civil Engineers. Tri-axial Testing machine, Direct Shear testing machine, Unconfined compression testing machine, consistency limit testing machines available in the laboratory.

Electric Circuit Lab:

Electric Circuit Laboratory is designed to introduce students to basic electrical engineering concepts including voltage DC and AC circuits, Superposition, Thevenin's Equivalent, series/parallel component connection and resonance in series/parallel circuits. Laboratory reports with revisions are required for each experiment.

Logic Circuits Design Lab:

The lab familiarizes student with logic circuits laboratory including logic gates, Boolean functions, adders, design of combinational circuits, flip-flops, design of sequential circuits, and sequential PLA’s; besides, the use of computer facilities for circuit simulation and report preparation and presentation. On top of required written reports for each experiment, the students are asked to design a project.

Open General-Purpose Computer Labs:

The open general-purpose laboratories are used by individuals and groups for most of their course and project work. These are rooms that are full of workstations (UNIX, Windows, or a combination of the two) with general-purpose software: standard packages like MS Office, compilers for a variety of programming languages, besides engineering-oriented tools like MATLAB and circuit-simulation software (e.g., PSPICE, Multisim and Proteus). All machines are connected to the internet.
