As a result of the success of the International Hospitality Management program with the Swiss EHL University

On Wednesday, December 13th, 2022, His Excellency the President of Prince Mugrin University, Dr. Bandar bin Muhammad Hajjar, received a delegation from the University of Lausanne, Hospitality and Hotel Management in Switzerland (EHL) at the UPM’s main campus in Madinah. The visit aimed to strengthen the partnership between the two universities in the interest of academic and development outputs.
During the dialogue with the Swiss delegation, His Excellency stressed the importance of the role of tourism in the Kingdom, especially after the economic renaissance witnessed by the Kingdom in recent times. He also emphasized that hospitality is the industry with the greatest impact in influencing and developing tourism in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
His Excellency, the President of the University, added that "the success of the International Hospitality Management Program at the University of Prince Mugrin is a success for both universities and all its employees, as the names of the two universities are linked to each other in terms of the International Hospitality Management Program.” During a meeting with the Swiss delegation, faculty members and students exchanged views with the delegation regarding the local and international tourism market during the next ten years. Additionally, the matter of keeping pace with the aspirations of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by making the hospitality sector one of the most important areas that contribute to the development of the Kingdom's economy significantly was discussed. The sector was also discussed in relation to encouraging Saudi citizens toward majors that will help develop our primary sources of wealth and interest which is human capital.
It is worth noting that the University of Prince Mugrin is currently collaborating with the University of Lausanne for Hospitality Management in Switzerland, which ranked first in the QS University Rankings for the year 2022. This collaboration is ongoing with the aim of developing academic programs and curricula for international hospitality management, and providing a balanced curriculum that combines complete knowledge and applies standards of international hospitality and tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This stems from the university's awareness of the importance of tourism in the Kingdom.
