Scholarships and Financial Assistance

We are keen to support promising and academically outstanding students (both male and female) through our full and partial scholarships that fall under university outlined conditions and guidelines.

University of Prince Mugrin Scholarships Program

This program aims to support outstanding students and giving them a chance to study in a competitive and stimulating environment to learn and develop their abilities in their chosen faculties to become future leaders. Hence, our university offers two types of scholarships:

A

Partial scholarships

  1. Excellence Scholarship (A) (80%)

An Excellence Scholarship is a scholarship of 80%, provided to students who achieve academic excellence and achievement on their tests and achieve advanced grades, higher than the ordinary level. The high school accumulative grade here is the main indicator in determining outstanding students.

The matriculation process follows the admission period which commences at the beginning of each academic year of the admission season for a specific period of time, then a comparison is made to select the best candidates. Students who will be awarded this scholarship for a specific major can only proceed if the minimum intake requirement is met; otherwise, they will be allowed to enroll in another available major according to their preference with full entitlement to the scholarship. Students granted this scholarship are not permitted to change majors without the approval of the Scholarship Committee.

To be considered for the Excellence Scholarship, applicants should fulfill the following criteria:

  • Meeting the admission criteria for the academic year 1443/1442 AH.
  • Saudi government school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (97%)
  • International school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (95%) in high school.

 

    2 . Excellence Scholarship (B) (60%):

An Excellence Scholarship is a scholarship of 60%, provided to students who achieve academic excellence and achievement on their tests and achieve advanced grades, higher than the ordinary level. The high school accumulative grade here is the main indicator in determining outstanding students.

  • Saudi government school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (95%).
  • International school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (90%) in high school.

 

     3. Partial Scholarship (30%):

This is a partial discount of 30% from the regular tuition fees granted to students based on their high school educational achievement.

This scholarship is renewed with the agreement of both parties and in accordance with the available rates for each academic year. The beneficiary party must commit to the university’s regulations and conditions.

To be considered for the Partial Scholarship, applicants should fulfill the following criteria:

  • Meeting the admission criteria for the academic year 1442/1443 AH
  • Saudi state school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (75%)
  • International school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (70%) in high school.
  • A student who has no sat for the General Aptitude Test (Qudarat) and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (Tahsili) but obtained 80% or higher score in high school may apply for this scholarship.

 

   4. Children of University of Prince Mugrin’s Employees (40%):

This is a 40% scholarship provided to the sons and daughters of employees of the Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University.

To be considered for the Children of Prince Mugrin Employees Scholarship, applicants should fulfill the following criteria:

  • Meeting the admission criteria for the academic year 1442/1443 AH
  • Saudi state school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (75%).
  • International school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (70%) in high school.
  • The father, mother or guardian of the student must be an employee at the University of Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz.
  • A student who has no sat for the General Aptitude Test (Qudarat) and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (Tahsili) but obtained 80% or higher score in high school may apply for this scholarship.

 

   5. Talent Scholarship (40%)

This is a scholarship of 40% granted to talented students with an extraordinary aptitude or distinguished performance in one or more community-appraised disciplines such as intellectual excellence, innovative thinking, and/or an academic distinction in a particular skill. Essentially, talent is the prime criterion for selection for this scholarship.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants should fulfill the following criteria:

  • Meeting the admission criteria for the academic year 1442/1443 AH.
  • The student must achieve a score of (600) on the Talent Scale.
  • Saudi state school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (75%). 
  • International school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (70%) in high school.
  • A student who has no sat for the General Aptitude Test (Qudarat) and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (Tahsili) but obtained 80% or higher score in high school may apply for this scholarship.

 

   6. Charitable Organizations Scholarship (50%):

This is a partial scholarship of 50% which is offered to Social Security students and charities.

To be considered for the Charitable Organizations Scholarship, applicants should fulfill the following criteria:

  • Meeting the admission criteria for the academic year 1442/1443 AH.
  • Saudi state school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (75%).
  • International school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (70%) in high school.
  • A student who has no sat for the General Aptitude Test (Qudarat) and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (Tahsili) but obtained 80% or higher score in high school may apply for this scholarship.

 

   7. Albayan Orphans Scholarship (50%):

Albayan Orphans scholarship (50%) is a full grant scholarship provided to orphans.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants should fulfil the following criteria:

  • Meet the admission criteria for the academic year 1443/1442 AH.
  • Pass the tendency test and an interview with the university psychologist.
  • A student who has no sat for the General Aptitude Test (Qudarat) and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (Tahsili) but obtained 80% or higher score in high school may apply for this scholarship.

 

   8. Siblings Scholarship (10% - 5%):

This is a partial discount between 5 to 10% offered to siblings of current ( active)/ registered full-time students at the University of Prince Mugrin.

To be considered for the Siblings Scholarship, applicants should fulfil the following criteria:

  • Meet the admission criteria for the academic year 1443/1442 AH.
  • All siblings must be registered either in the undergraduate program or the preparatory year program.
  • Provide proof of kinship
  • The sibling discount percentage also applies to students who have been awarded a scholarship of less than (50%).
  • The student's first sibling has the right to receive an additional discount of (10%) if his or her scholarship is less than (50%).
  • The student's second sibling has the right to receive an additional discount of (5%) if his or her scholarship is less than (50%).
  • A student who has no sat for the General Aptitude Test (Qudarat) and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (Tahsili) but obtained 80% or higher score in high school may apply for this scholarship.

 

   9. Group Discount (10% - 15%):

This is a partial discount between 10-15% is for groups of students enrolled to study regularly at the University of Prince Muqrin.

To be considered for the Group Discount , applicants should fulfil the following criteria:

  • Meet the admission criteria for the academic year 1443/1442 AH.
  • Registered in / Attend the undergraduate program or the preparatory year.
  • The group discount also applies to students who have received a discount of less than 50% on tuition fees.
  • A group of ten students is entitled to an additional discount of 10% if the scholarship they were awarded is less than 50%.
  • A group of twenty or more students is entitled to an additional discount of 15% if the scholarship they were awarded is less than 50%.
  • The duration of the group discount is one academic year. (This scholarship may be renewed based on recommendation and approval of the Committee).
  • A student who has no sat for the General Aptitude Test (Qudarat) and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (Tahsili) but obtained 80% or higher score in high school may apply for this scholarship.

 

B

Full scholarships

  1. National scholarship for the children of martyrs (100%)

The National Scholarship is a full scholarship (100%) for the children of Martyrs.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants should fulfill the following criteria:

  • Meeting the admission criteria for the academic year 1443/1442 AH.
  • Saudi state school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (75%). 
  • International school students must obtain an overall grade of at least (70%). 
  • A student who has no sat for the General Aptitude Test (Qudarat) and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (Tahsili) but obtained 80% or higher score in high school may apply for this scholarship.

Saleh Abdullah Kamel's International Hospitality Management scholarships

Respected Saleh abdullah Kamel, in cooperation with Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University, provided a number of partial scholarships, up to 80%, for high school graduates from the Kingdom's young men and women, if the appropriate conditions are met.

Scholarships conditions and regulations

General requirements for the University of Prince Mugrin Program:

  • All approved standard admission conditions and criteria for the academic year of 1442/1443 Hijri are applied to all scholarships applicants.
  • The total rate is used in deciding the trade-offs between scholarship applicants, whenever a large number of applicants apply to full scholarships: (Secondary school grades 40% + General Aptitude Test (GAT) 60%).
  • Combining two scholarships is not allowed and the student who is eligible to more than one scholarship, shall be awarded the one with the higher value.
  • The duration of the scholarship is 5 years (10 semesters), including the preparatory year, but not the summer semester.
  • These scholarships are subject to scholarship regulations applicable in the University of Prince Mugrin Program.
  • A student who has no sat for the General Aptitude Test (Qudarat) and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (Tahsili) but obtained 80% or higher score in high school may apply for any of the above mentioned scholarships except the Excellence scholarship.
